Guest Speaker: Jill Lindsey
Jill uses sign language as her basic means of communication. After graduating from the Texas School for the Deaf in 1987, Jill took collegiate courses at ACC. Jill took on a variety of jobs during her earlier employment years, but found her career niche at the Texas Comptroller’s Office where she has been employed for the last 21 years. Aside from playing computer games, writing letters, riding her bike and exercising; one of Jill’s favorite things to do is to teach others basic signing skillsl; which in turn helps that person to be better able to communicate with her. Jill taught Chip Howe the same basic signing skills being presented during this session well over 20 years ago, which enabled him to effectively work with individuals who had little or no hearing in a competitive work environment.
